Love, as it is

"I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you, not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out; I love you for putting your hand into my heaped-up heart and passing over all the foolish, weak things that you can't help dimly seeing there, and for drawing out into the light all the beautiful belongings that no one else had looked quite far enough to find. I love you because you are helping me to make of the lumber of my life, not a tavern but a temple; out of the works of my every day not a reproach but a song. I love you because you have done more than any creed could have done to make me good, and more than any fate could have done to make me happy. You have done it without a touch, without a word, without a sign. You have done it by being yourself. Perhaps that is what being a friend means, after all."

Black and Red

Can't remember where I got this picture from. If its yours, you get the credit. But please leave a comment to refresh my memory ;)

I find this picture a.m.a.z.i.n.g. But what I love most is that dark, dark, almost black - yet red - lipstick on the model. This shade is a tad difficult to pull off, especially with so much blackness already in the picture, but I must say the lips are what drew me most to this picture.

Very attractive, sensual, imagination-inducing.

Shades

Herve Leger, Spring 09

I love Herve Leger's recent designs of what people have termed 'Bandage Dresses'. Although I feel that such dresses are quite limited to people who have the height and figure to pull them off, nonetheless when worn they really do have a strong impact and look stunning. HL's Spring Season turned out so many bandage dresses but this is one of my favourites.

I love the running shades of white to black from shoulder to hem, the floaty fabric on the sleeve which challenges the bandage dress look of elasticity, and most of all the nice toga twist across the left shoulder!

Guess what I found via The Sartorialist:

Darn I want this dress so much!

Quote

I found this nice quote inside Jodi Picoult's (she's one of my favourite authors) newest novel, 'Handle With Care'.

"And did you get what
you wanted in this life, even so?
I did
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, and to feel
myself beloved on the earth"

Yummy

Doesn't this dish look absolutely delicious? Was looking at some sites on livejournal and came across this user (which I can't remember now, argh!) who posted an entire entry of gorgeously yummy looking food. Not to mention that the pictures are really well-taken too! But, can anyone tell me what this is called, and how to go about making it? I'd really like to try!

Favourite Tunes

This is my list of 10 musicians in my world who, if every musician in the world were ordered to stop making their music, these 10 should be given another chance because the music they make is GOOD.

1. Jason Mraz
He's created his own style of simple laidback yet enjoyable music. Not to mention that unique and distinctive voice, the twang of guitar strings, and music that just makes you want to close your eyes and sink into.

2. Jay Chou
1 of the 2 chinese musicians I've picked, so famous is this guy that he's appeared on the cover of TIME magazine. He has a style vastly different from the rest of the Asian music market, althought some may find his slurring singing a little hard to stomach, no one can deny that this guy's got music talent.

3. FIR
The second group of chinese I've chosen, this time a band. They may be new of the scene but the lead singer, Faye, has got super powerhouse vocals. Their songs really reflect a very strong identity and character, even through the different topics they sing about. Seriously good music too. Worth bopping your head too and makes you want to scream along.

4. Corrinne May
Great vocals. Her singing does not come with many accompanying instruments, but it is precisely because of this I feel that the power of her voice is so plainly evident.

5. Plain White T's
Hey There Delilah. A band worth keeping for music to make every girl swoon ;)

6. Oasis
24/7 anyday. Noel Gallagherrrrrrr :)

7. Coldplay
Chris Martin, 99% of the reason why. Not to mention the many enigmatic songs and quiet lulling power. Genius.

8. Red Hot Chili Peppers
Good when you need some noise. Strong music. Love them totally. Some people may throw tomatoes at me but somehow I find them almost in the same league as Oasis. Which is why I love them both!

9. Taylor Swift
So, so emotional. She may be new but definitely burst onto the music scene. Songs which really stick to your heart and make you remember then when you face different circumstances in life. Not to mention the great looks and ever-so-impactful eyes.

10. Leona Lewis
<3 my last and very girly choice!
